High‑quality milk

They consistently produce good volumes of dairy with solid butterfat and protein content, making their milk ideal for drinking, yogurt, cheese, and more.

About LaMancha Goats

LaMancha goats are a short-eared dairy breed believed to have originated in Spain and later brought to California by Spanish missionaries. From there, they were taken to Oregon, where the breed was further developed. Notably, LaManchas are the only dairy goat breed developed in the United States.

One story behind their name suggests that some of these goats were shipped to Paris in crates labeled from LaMancha, Spain, and the region’s name became attached to the goats.

LaManchas are medium-sized goats with uniquely small ears. Does typically stands 28 inches tall and weighs around 130 pounds, while a buck can reach 30 inches tall and weigh approximately 165 pounds. They are agile, curious, intelligent, and have friendly, easygoing dispositions, making them enjoyable to handle.

Among standard-sized dairy goat breeds, LaMancha milk is the second highest in butterfat, just behind the Nubian, making it ideal for drinking, cheese, and other dairy products. Their size and temperament make them well-suited for homesteads, hobby farms, or family pets. LaManchas are excellent milkers, show goats, and all-around great animals to own.
