Nigerian Dwarf Goats
Meet the Mini Dairy Breed with Maximum Appeal
Nigerian Dwarfs are a miniature dairy goat breed that originated in West Africa and was further developed in the United States. Does typically stands 17–22.5” tall, while bucks reach 20–23.5”. They can live 14 years or more. These little goats are easier to feed and handle than standard-sized goats, and their playful, charming personalities make them utterly irresistible.

Nigerian Dwarfs are versatile: they thrive in large herds, enhance homesteads and hobby farms, or can be kept in backyards as pets or show animals. Despite their small size, they produce exceptionally rich milk, high in protein and butterfat, perfect for drinking, cheesemaking, yogurt, or ice cream. Their milk is also excellent for luxurious soaps and lotions. With smaller fat globules, goat milk is easier to digest than cow’s milk, naturally homogenized, and A2A2. While goat milk sometimes gets a bad reputation for taste, when goats are healthy, fed well, milked cleanly, and the milk chilled promptly, it’s a true treat.
